LED: Lighting the 21st Century

That’s right. Experts predict that by 2030, 7 out of every 10 light bulbs will be LED, generating annual energy savings of around 30 billion dollars. The sooner you jump on this train, the more you’ll save. But you need to make sure you’re travelling First Class, with the best quality product and the best design. That’s where AIRS Electrical can help.

What is LED?

LED stands for ‘Light Emitting Diode’. These are electronic components, which allow current to flow in one direction. As LED technology has advanced, more and more people have seen the benefits of switching to this far more energy efficient lighting option.

LED lights were invented in the 1960’s. They consume considerably less power and can achieve incredibly long life (approximately 100,000 hours for new generation LEDs). They are also very robust physically as they don’t have a fragile filament like a normal globe.

And best of all for interior designers, the high brightness diodes are now available in many colours. This means you can create the atmosphere and ambience you desire for your office.

LED lighting is being used for a large range of applications

Architectural/Commercial:

  • Interior/Exterior Special Effects
  • Landscape Lighting (Gardens, Pools, Spas)
  • Strip Lighting
  • Accent Lighting
  • Small Spot Lighting
  • In-Ground and Underwater Lighting
  • Refrigerated Display Cases
  • General Merchandise Lighting
  • Concert Hall/Theatre/TV Studio/Bar-Club/Restaurant Lighting
  • Safety Lighting (Exit Signs, Emergency Lighting, etc.)
  • Signage (Corporate, Parking, etc.)
  • Street Lighting

“Anywhere companies have pursued energy efficiency they have ended up making money, even if money wasn’t their initial goal.”  David Goldstein, The End of Oil
